Maurice Donald HAYES, 46, Waveland farmhand and WWII veteran, died at 4:20 a.m. Saturday in Veterans Hospital at Indianapolis after a 3-week illness. He was a son of Charles and Nora Robards Hayes and was born July 3, 1912 in Judson. He attended school in Waveland. Mr. Hayes was a member of the American Post #323 of this community. Surviving besides the parents are a daughter, Vicki in Indianapolis; 3 brothers, Vern of Anderson; Mildred of Waveland and Harry of Crawfordsville; and two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Servies of Waveland and Mrs. Dale Miller of Columbus, Ohio. Funeral services were held Monday at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home with Rev. CN McBrayer officiating and burial in Barnes Cemetery at Judson. Military rites were held by the color guard of Waveland American Legion Post. - kbz
